Recent Coverage for You Belong Here
While it's a busy time for events, I've also been lucky to receive coverage for You Belong Here both locally and further afield in recent weeks.
Nicole McAlinden, Monique Mulligan, and Cassie Hamer were all kind enough to feature me on their blogs, and Nicole Berkovic did a great feature for The Australian. It's behind a paywall, but available here for subscribers. My most recent review came from Gretchen Shirm for Australian Book Review (Gretchen's a fine author as well as a reviewer; you can visit her site here,) The Herald Sun, Kill Your Darlings, and WritingWA, where it was March's Book of the Month.
How important is such coverage? Well, it's notoriously difficult for debut novelists to make an impact with their first book. Add in the tyranny of distance (a WA author trying to pitch their work on the east coast of Australia,) and it's easy to see just how much such coverage matters in terms of helping my book reach its audience.
Thanks to all the aforementioned people and publications for seeking out my work, and for engaging with the book and its greater themes in such a meaningful and rewarding way. While I'm now writing the next book, your words and thoughts reminded why it is that I do what I do, in and outside of the greater industry vacuum.
